The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, took office today for second term, following the electoral victory of the MPLA. The investiture ceremony took place at Praça da República, in the presence of numerous invited Heads of State and other individuals. Close to twenty thousand national citizens witnessed the act, which was also marked by an imposing military parade.
The Angolan Head of State was sworn in by the presiding judge of the Constitutional Court, Laurinda Cardoso.
